Jade Porter, AMFT

As an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), I work with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, and grief, and with those beginning to notice how the way we show up in our relationships often mirrors the way we show up for ourselves.

I graduated from the University of California, Riverside where I earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, and went on to complete my Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Pepperdine University.

Empathy and curiosity are the foundation of how I work. No two people arrive at therapy through the same path, and as your therapist it's my goal to get curious about your story so I can understand how your experiences have shaped the way you process the world. I am dedicated to offering a space for open dialogue and communication. However, I know that real change takes time, so before anything else, I take the time to learn your story. From there, our work begins.

With my clients, I practice radical acceptance. Meaning in our work I will always adapt, understand and accept where you at without judgement. I like to think of each person as a compilation of their environment, relationships, and lived experience which means our work will often focus on how experiences and patterns contribute to daily functioning, emotions and relationships.

I draw on modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Motivational Interviewing, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), leaning humanistic in how I apply them, to help you build healthier boundaries and strengthen your relationship to yourself and others.

My role is to walk alongside you as you do the work of understanding yourself more fully, and to offer the tools, questions, and gentle challenges that help you get there.
